Sand Trap of Greed & Power

Though the debacle in Iraq has gone badly and both Iraqis and Americans are calling for an end to it, can the ruling class reliquish control of the best oil fields on the planet? For all the campaign rhetoric, will we really be out in a year or two or are we there for good? It seems to me the longer we are there the more resistance to this system will grow so it is indeed a dangerous game that they may not be able to let go of.
